Agreement to these terms
These terms apply when you use myperfumehouse.com or myperfumehouse.net (the “site”), buy from us, book an event or consultation, or visit the shop. “My Perfume House,” “we,” and “us” mean My Perfume House LLC, 1150 W Belmont Ave, Suite 4, Chicago, IL 60657.
By using the site or buying from us, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Using the site
Please use the site lawfully and respectfully. You agree not to:
- try to gain unauthorized access to the site, other accounts, or our systems;
- scrape, copy, or republish the site at scale, or use bots to place orders or reserve event spots;
- interfere with the site’s operation or security;
- use the site to resell our inventory in bulk without our written permission.
You must be at least 18 to place an order. If you are younger, a parent or guardian may order for you.
Orders, pricing, and payment
Prices are in US dollars. Tax and shipping are added at checkout where they apply. Product availability changes quickly in a small shop, so an item can sell out between the time you add it to your cart and the time we process your order.
A confirmation email means we received your order. We accept your order when we ship it or confirm it is ready for pickup. We may decline or cancel an order for a pricing or listing error, limited stock, suspected fraud, or suspected bulk resale. If we cancel an order you already paid for, we refund you in full.
Payments are handled by third party payment processors. We do not store your full card number on our own servers.
Shipping and returns
Shipping. We ship by ground anywhere in the continental United States. Express shipping and international shipping are available on request, so email us before you order. Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees.
Damaged or missing packages. If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or does not arrive, tell us as soon as you can, ideally within 7 days of the carrier’s delivery date, and we will make it right.
Returns of unopened bottles. You can return an unopened, unused bottle within 14 days for a full refund to your original payment method.
Opened bottles. Fragrance is a hygiene item, so opened bottles are not refundable. If a bottle is not working on your skin, we will give you credit toward a different bottle when you bring it back within 14 days with at least 90 percent of the fragrance remaining.
How to start a return. Email info@myperfumehouse.com with your order number, or bring the bottle and your receipt to the shop. Unless we sent a damaged or incorrect item, return shipping costs are your responsibility.
Gift cards
We sell gift cards in any denomination, delivered by email or printed at the shop. We do not charge fees on gift cards. Any expiration date will comply with Illinois law. Gift cards cannot be redeemed for cash except where the law requires it, and we cannot replace a lost or stolen card, so please treat it like cash.
Events, RSVPs, and consultations
RSVPs and tickets. Every event is listed on the Events page. Free events use an RSVP at zero dollars at checkout. Ticketed events use a ticket purchase. You will receive a confirmation email with a calendar file.
Capacity and waitlists. Spaces are limited. When an event is full, you can join the waitlist, and we will email you if a spot opens. A waitlist place is not a guaranteed reservation.
Cancellations. For free events, please let us know at least 24 hours before so we can offer your spot to the waitlist. For ticketed events, we refund tickets cancelled up to 72 hours before the event. After that, we offer credit toward another event.
Age limits. Most daytime events are open to all ages. Signature evening events that include wine service are 21 and over. Each event listing states any age limit. We may ask for identification and may decline entry or service if we cannot confirm age.
Consultations. Fragrance Wardrobe Consultations are free, last about twenty minutes, and carry no obligation to buy. Please book a slot so we can give you our full attention. If you arrive late, we may shorten the session to stay on schedule for the next guest.
Conduct. Please be considerate of other guests and our team. We may ask anyone who is disruptive or unsafe to leave.
Private events and Concierge Gifting
Private event bookings and Concierge Gifting orders are confirmed in writing, and the written quote or confirmation sets the price, deposit, timing, and cancellation terms. If that document differs from these terms, the document controls for that booking. We do not charge you until you have approved the price in writing.
Fragrance, allergies, and safety
Fragrance is applied to skin and contains alcohol and ingredients that can irritate skin or trigger allergies or asthma. Please test a sample before you commit to a full bottle, and tell us about any sensitivities so we can guide you. We share ingredient information we receive from the brands we carry, but we cannot guarantee that it is complete.
Keep fragrance away from heat, flame, and your eyes, and out of reach of children. If you have a reaction, wash the area with water and speak with a healthcare professional. Nothing on the site or in the shop is medical advice.
Scent descriptions are personal impressions, and fragrance smells different on different skin. Product photos and colors may vary slightly from the bottle you receive.
What you send us
When you send us a message, quiz answers, a review, or a photo, you remain the owner of it. You give us permission to use it to respond to you and to run the service you asked for. If you tag us or send us a review or photo for sharing, you also let us display it on the site and our social channels with credit to the name you used. Please send only content you have the right to share, and nothing unlawful, abusive, or misleading.
Intellectual property
The site’s text, photography, video, logos, layout, and quizzes belong to My Perfume House or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and share pages for personal use. You may not copy, modify, or use our content commercially without written permission.
Brand names and trademarks of the fragrance houses we carry belong to their owners and appear here only to identify products.
Links to other sites and services
The site links to services we do not control, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, payment processors, and our email provider. Their content and practices are governed by their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, the site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise the site will be uninterrupted or error free. Some states do not allow certain exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you, and you keep any rights the law gives you that cannot be waived.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, My Perfume House is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, products, or events. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the product, ticket, or service at issue. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law rules. If we have a disagreement, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. If we cannot, the state and federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, will have jurisdiction, and you and we consent to them.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the shop grows. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. An order is governed by the terms in effect when you placed it. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
